Brendan Beck has some eye-popping numbers with Double-A Somerset this season. He hasn’t given up a run and he’s barely allowed any base runners, with a minuscule WHIP of 0.467.
But the most important stat for the 26-year-old right-hander is the fact he’s made all three of his starts and hasn’t had any issues with his elbow.
“I kind of take the results and throw them out the window at this point,” Beck said by phone. “Just getting back on the field has been great. That’s my main focus. That’s what all the work has been for.”
The work has mostly been the rehab from a pair of elbow surgeries, the first being Tommy John surgery shortly after being selected by the Yankees in the second round of the 2021 draft.
