The little dog I mentioned yesterday came back—and this time, she stayed.
After talking to neighbors, I found out she’d been abandoned just days earlier—likely because she was pregnant. Since then, she had been wandering door to door, simply looking for kindness.
When she reached my doorstep, I offered her food—and that was all it took. She decided this was home.
Thanks to two incredibly generous women, we were able to get her to the vet right away. Her spay procedure was fully covered, and thankfully, the pregnancy wasn’t far enough along to pose a risk. Had it been, we were ready to support her and care for her puppies.
I’ve named her Peg, after the character in Lady and the Tramp—and just like her namesake, she’s starting to show a little sparkle and confidence. Her gentle smile says it all.
Also, happy to report that Jasmine—our other sweet girl—is making great strides! She’s learning to walk on a leash and couldn’t be prouder of herself. 🐾💛
