I know, I know.. Robyn fans will insist that Kody didn't know true love until Robyn and she was the only one he was ever in love with. Sorry, but that was always BS.
This is the truest thing Kody has said in recent seasons.
He was in love with Meri and he loudly proclaimed that she was his soulmate. Then he fell out of love with her and wanted her gone. It happens. Nolknger living someone doesn't erase the time spent loving them.
He was (is?) In love with Janelle. They fell more in love after the appearance of Robyn/TLC. Their relationship falling apart and her finding greater happiness without him doesn't erase what they experienced.
He seemed to grow to love, appreciate, and have fun with Christine. Her finding a better partner for herself doesn't change that.
The fact that he was maliciously lying about not loving them while also admitting to loving them or, in the case of Janelle, saying he wanted romantic love with her, shows that he knew on some level all along that he loved them. He's still a terrible person, though, which is why it all went bad.
