Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have called a truce.
The exes have finalized their $75 million divorce battle, announcing the news on Friday.
“Our divorce has now been finalised. We are proud of all we’ve achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children. We ask for the media to continue to respect our children’s privacy,” Cohen, 53, and Fisher, 49, said in a joint statement shared on their Instagram Stories on Friday, June 13.
In April 2024, the “Borat” actor and the “Wedding Crashers” bombshell shocked fans when they announced that they had split in 2023 after 13 years of marriage.
Cohen and Fisher share three children: Olive, born in 2007; Elula, born in August 2010; and Montgomery, born in March 2015.
While they remained tight-lipped during their $75 million divorce, tensions reportedly grew between the two following Rebel Wilson’s explosive claims in her autobiography that Cohen allegedly had sexually harassed her while filming their 2016 comedy “The Brothers Grimsby.”
Wilson also alleged that he tried to block her memoir from being published.
Cohen denied her allegations, calling them “demonstrably false claims” that were “contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during, and after the production of ‘The Brothers Grimsby.’”
Following the accusations, Fisher allegedly set off her ex when she spoke with The Sunday Times to promote “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.”
While she did not mention Cohen, the actress highlighted the importance of female empowerment — a move that allegedly didn’t sit well with her former husband.
“This comment left Sacha furious,” a friend of the comedian told Daily Mail in February.
“It felt like a blatant statement that she was on side with Rebel, the whole women sticking together thing was obvious and that is what he drew from the situation and it has made him very cross and upset,” the insider explained.
“Sacha was fuming when he read that,” they added. “He felt utterly betrayed.”
Sources also alleged that Wilson’s allegations against Cohen were “very much” what caused their marriage to crumble.
“There may have been some issues before, but the allegations about how he made Rebel feel were a major factor – and it appears she wants anyone in the industry who will listen to know how she feels,” an insider stated.
They also noted the stars “have always been very private people so Isla speaking out was a massive shock to him, and a clear sign she isn’t going to be the doting wife anymore.”
However, other sources connected to the famous exes denied the allegations to The Post at the time, saying what the Daily Mail reported was untrue.
In their initial breakup announcement, they hinted at the tension in the relationship.
“After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are putting our racquets down,” Cohen and Fisher said in April 2024. “In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy and have been quietly working through this change.”
They concluded, “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
Cohen and Fisher met in 2001 but didn’t marry until 2010.
In 2022, the “Confessions of a Shopaholic” actress explained why she held their marriage close to her chest.
“By not having my relationship in the public domain and not having spoken about how we met or really talked about our marriage publicly, it’s remained something private and valuable to me,” Fisher stated. “I just think it’s nice to keep some things for yourself.”
