Obstetrician Dr. Amanda Hess checked into the Frankfort Regional Medical Center, KY, to give birth to her second child, back in 2017. She noticed on the computer screen in her room that a patient was having serious complications with her delivery. Dr Hess knew the doctor was on his way, but not there yet.

She was determined to help so she walked into Leah Halliday-Johnson’s room and delivered the baby. The next morning, Dr Hess gave birth to her baby girl – Ellen Joyce.
