Love Island USA season 7 has been a roller coaster of emotions dominated by Ace Greene’s controlling nature, but if the rumors about his relationship with Chelley Bissainthe are true, the show could change forever. Ace, who’s one of the original Islanders on Love Island USA season 7, has been tough to connect with. Controlling and stubborn, viewers haven’t embraced his personality.
While it was clear from the beginning of the season that Ace was interested in fellow original Islander Chelley, the couple drew a bad hand at the start. Ace was coupled with quickly removed Love Island USA cast member Yulissa Escobar, while Chelley was paired with Austin Shepard. Even so, the pair tried to get to know each other better.
Ace and Chelley came into the Love Island USA season 7 premiere having met before, but made it clear to the other Islanders that they didn’t know each other well. Sharing they’d met in passing, everyone felt like they had more of a spark than others, but left it up to them to explore. It’s possible that Ace & Chelley have been keeping a secret.
Throughout the season, Ace has been seen as one of the few Islanders who are moving through the series like it’s more of a game than an experience. While he’s used a lot of language to make it seem otherwise, Ace has been strategic with his votes and relationships. Now, considering there’s something bigger at stake, Ace could’ve made a big mistake.
Ace’s Background With Chelley Made Him An Instant Problem
They Knew Each Other Before Love Island USA
As Love Island USA season 7 got underway, viewers got the chance to get to know the Islanders and learn about their lives outside the villa. When Ace came into the villa, where Chelley and several other girls already were, it quickly became clear he’d seen Chelley before. The pair admitted to having met once in New York, when they were both visiting.
While Chelley and Ace shared that they’d talked the night they met and followed one another online, they both explained that there had been nothing more to their brief interaction. The Love Island USA season 7 cast moved on, but viewers struggled to believe that was all there was to the story. Instead, many began sleuthing around Ace and Chelley’s social media profiles.
Though there wasn’t much proof about Ace and Chelley having been in contact prior to Love Island USA season 7, some issues stuck out for viewers. Ace had gone back through Chelley’s photos on the social media platform and liked a lot of her content from years past, which some found shady. Others wondered if the pair had been corresponding through DM.
With Ace and Chelley ultimately not coupling up in the beginning of the season, it was clear that even if they had only met once, something was going on between them in the villa. The pair continued to connect, and Ace’s relationships with the other Islanders suffered because of his focus on Chelley. Things weren’t adding up for the Islanders.
Ace’s Attitude Towards The Women Of The Villa Has Been Horrible
He’s Treated Them With Disrespect
Throughout Love Island USA season 7, Ace has had some terrible moments with his fellow Islanders. While the majority of the male cast has gotten along throughout the season, Ace’s attitude toward the women of the villa has been tough to watch. With his initial match, Yulissa, being kicked out of the villa for her online behavior, Ace started off single.
It’s possible Ace and Chelley could’ve been planning to have a drama-filled summer, but hiding their existing relationship all season long.
This allowed Ace to be blatantly picky about who he talked to and bonded with, and vocal about how he felt regarding the other ladies in the villa. While he was clear that he valued Chelley and Olandria Carthen, who was matched up with his friend Taylor Williams, Ace was difficult when it came to other women, especially Huda Mustafa and Amaya Espinal.
Huda, who was originally matched up with Jeremiah Brown, wasn’t someone Ace felt deserved his respect after the way she treated Jeremiah. Rather than allowing her to have her own relationship with him, Ace took the things he’d heard about Huda and Jeremiah and used them to brush her off. Coming off rude and blatantly disrespectful, watching Ace be unkind was off-putting.
Ace’s relationship with Amaya was also a struggle to see, as Amaya and Ace matched up after she entered the villa. While he seemed excited at the idea of getting to know her, Amaya’s personality quickly became overwhelming to Ace. Rather than trying to consider her feelings, Ace was snappy and shut down. Ace rude to Amaya, who was trying to connect with him.
Ace’s Strategic Elimination Votes Have Caused Issues
He’s Putting His Chances Of Winning Before Real Connections
Although Ace has been tough with the women of Love Island USA, it’s clear that he has a soft spot for many of the guys. Even so, Ace has been overly strategic during his time on the show where votes are involved, making it clear he’s only there for himself. While everyone on the show is aware of the $100,000 prize, Ace is overt about it.
Making strategic decisions during the votes of the season, Ace has done everything he can to keep himself and Chelley seeming like the most likely winners of the season. From voting out Charlie Georgiou, who was connecting with Hannah Fields at the time, to choosing Jeremiah to leave the villa most recently, Ace has been out for blood all season.
Ace Could Be Angling For A Win With Chelley That Was Pre-Planned
Their Relationship May Exist Outside Of Love Island USA
While the rumors floating around about Ace and Chelley seemed like they could be harmless at first, it’s possible that their previous relationship could’ve been a lot larger than it seemed. With Ace’s strategic voting and the pair getting a dramatic edit, it’s possible Ace and Chelley could’ve been planning to have a drama-filled summer, but hiding their existing relationship all season long.
Though some aren’t concerned about the possibility of Ace and Chelley lying to the public, it’s possible that their connection was stronger than originally expected. If the pair were already together prior to Love Island USA season 7, they could’ve been pulling the wool over viewers’ eyes all season. Ace and Chelley’s Love Island USA journey could be to win $100,000 together on false pretenses.
