From the time he was 9 years old, Eduardo Cayado started adopting and taking care of abandoned animals throughout Annapolis, Brazil. Now he’s 17 years old, and he just opened his own animal shelter for abandoned animals, where he provides food and medical care. He makes it a point to make sure each animal feels care and affection, and he finds families to adopt the pets once they have been rehabilitated. He named his shelter EduPacoci, and he has regular donors and volunteers that help run the shelter, and he walks 20 miles a day between his home and the house he rented for the shelter.

And in his spare time, he makes things and gives them to the people at a nearby nursing home. This last Christmas he gave 52 elderly people personalized presents.
