Five-year-old Mr. Cooke had just finished Pre-K and was having a party to celebrate. His family rented a bounce house, but it popped when they were setting it up. Then, the Icee machines they rented and the horse they scheduled both canceled. On top of that, his friends from Pre-K couldn’t make it to the party.
His mom, Ms. Desiree Mace, said her son was really upset about everything going wrong. She reached out to the Fayetteville Police Department to see if they could help make his day better.
Mr. Cooke told the officers that he wanted to be a police officer when he grew up! The officers came by his party, let him see their police cars, and even play with the blue lights. Mr. Cooke was so happy!
The officers gave him a small gift bag to celebrate finishing his first year of school. They wanted to show how proud the community is of him.
Congratulations on your first big step, Mr. Cooke! We’re excited for you! Thanks for letting us be part of your special day!
