David Beckham to finally receive knighthood from King Charles amid family feud: report

David Beckham has made the coveted King’s Birthday Honors list and is set to receive a knighthood from the monarch himself, according to a report.

The former England captain, 50, is set to join the ranks of the elite next week, with this royal accolade marking the pinnacle of his glittering career, the Sun reports.

The celebrated soccer star is expected to attend next week’s star-studded ceremony, which takes place biannually.

Once honored, the former athlete will become Sir David Beckham — making his wife, Victoria Beckham, entitled to use Lady Beckham as a title.

Beckham, who played for Manchester United during his glittering career on the field, also accumulated 115 appearances for England, including 59 as team captain.

The retired soccer star holds the unique distinction of being the only English male player to score in three separate World Cups.

The king’s honor will recognize Beckham’s sporting accomplishments, as well as his extensive charitable contributions away from the field.

Back in 2003, Beckham received an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) title for services to football, which was presented to him by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The athlete’s wife, Posh Spice, their sons Brooklyn and Romeo, and his grandparents attended the ritzy ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Following the OBE honor, it has long been speculated whether Beckham would ever receive a knighthood.

During his two decades of waiting, he struck up a close personal relationship with King Charles and his eldest son, Prince William, who is an avid soccer fan.

Beckham shares a deep passion for horticulture with the monarch, a connection that led to a memorable invitation to Highgrove Estate, where they engaged in an enriching conversation about their shared commitment to environmental preservation

The meeting seemed to go exceptionally well, as just a short time later, Charles officially appointed Beckham as the ambassador for one of The King’s Foundation.

The monarch is believed to have hinted at Beckham’s impending honor at the Chelsea Flower Show in London last month.

While shaking hands with the retired athlete, the King asked, “You got it, didn’t you?”

“It was incredible, thank you. It was very kind,” Beckham responded, fueling speculation that he received a letter from the palace outlining plans for the knighthood.

Beckham’s honor comes at a time when family tensions have been making headlines, with his eldest son, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30, distancing themselves from recent family events.

The aspiring chef and his wife, 30, failed to show up for David’s 50th birthday bash in London in May — fueling rumors of an ongoing family rift.

Victoria, sons Romeo, Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 13, were all present at David’s star-studded bash at a London restaurant.

Brooklyn was also notably absent from Victoria’s fashion show in Paris in March, while Romeo, Cruz and Harper were all in attendance.

What’s more, the couple, who tied the knot in 2022, have reportedly hired Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s former lawyer for help managing their reputation.

The Beckhams have yet to comment on ongoing rumors of a family feud.
