Today, a beautiful young child approached me at Chick-fil-A just to say thank you. I took him to the counter and bought him a cookie, but then he surprised me—he handed me a gift card so I could come back and eat again.
That moment reminded me exactly why I’ve chosen to serve—first in the USMC, then as a State Police officer, and now in City Police. The faith, innocence, and love of a child are immeasurable.
In a world so often divided by racial tension, prejudice, and discrimination, this child didn’t see black or white. He saw only a law enforcement officer—someone he called a hero. I applaud his parents for raising a child who sees people with love.
Yes, I know there are those who dislike or even hate the police. But it’s moments like this when God reminds me of the many who honor, respect, and support the badge and the uniform.
Today was truly another “best day ever.” God’s presence is everywhere if we’re willing to see it. 🙏😇🇺🇸
