What a true gentleman!
A couple of weeks ago, I was feeling emotional, and my son Carson asked me what was wrong. I shared with him a Facebook post from a mom of a 16-year-old girl with special needs who was looking for someone to take her daughter to prom. Without hesitation, Carson said, “Mom, I’ll do it!”
And he did. The day before prom, we went to decorate Izzie’s room and introduce her to Carson. The next evening, he proudly took her to prom, where she was crowned Duchess. Afterwards, he sat with her for over an hour, watching cartoons together.
Izzie is a sweet girl—non-verbal, in a wheelchair, on a feeding tube, and usually very quiet. But there were precious moments when her eyes met Carson’s, and she lit up like fireworks… and so did he.
This experience reminded me that we are all more alike than different. In a world full of choices, always choose kindness.
This is just one story about a boy I’m blessed to call my son. He inspires me every day to be better and to do better. ❤️
