Top prospect's early struggles — without his biggest weapon —aren't dimming his Mets dream

Brandon Sproat is still searching. 

For his big league shot, sure, but also for better results at the lower level and notably for his changeup. 

“It’s been a little bit of a — I wouldn’t say ‘struggle,’” Sproat said after his most recent start Wednesday with Triple-A Syracuse, a bounce back effort that brought his ERA to 5.48 in six starts. “But you’re trying to put pieces together. 

“That’s this game. You’re trying to find pieces, put them where they go.”
