Doctors discovered a rare tumor in 21-month-old Rhody Tabor. It began in his liver and had dangerously spread through his blood vessels into his heart. The condition was described as “literally one in a million,” and left Rhody severely ill, unable to walk, barely speaking, and extremely weak.

After several rounds of chemotherapy, his condition improved enough to undergo a high-risk, eight-hour surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery was successfully completed on April 9.

Rhody’s mother, Anna, shared on Facebook that Rhody was recovering better than expected. He has been taken off his breathing tube, and is no longer sedated. Although he still needs additional treatment, including chemotherapy, his parents describe him as a miracle.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised over $37,000 to help the family manage the financial burden.
